Eli Haas earned a BS and MS in Mathematics and completed his studies for a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the New York University School of Engineering. He worked at the RCA Corporation Research Center in Princeton. He later became Manager of Operations Analysis at NBC in New York.
He was drawn to personal entrepreneurship, and in 1975 he founded ENH International Inc., specializing in high-quality fancy-shaped diamonds and catering to upscale global brands.
In past years he has been active in numerous industry organizations. Eli has advocated widely for the jewelry and diamond industry in the United States and worldwide. He has served as President of the Diamond Dealers Club of New York, Vice President of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses, Chairman of the Jewelers Vigilance Committee, and Governor of the Board of the Gemological Institute of America. As an International Arbitrator, he helped author much of the judicial framework governing international WFDB arbitration.
He currently serves as Vice President of DMIA and a member of its Executive Board.
